Abstract
This study analyzes the possibility of the implementation of the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) in Thailand. This project discusses the organizational structure, the management, the technology, the financial situation, and the national effect of the Bangkok Sky Train. The evaluation of the system is done by comparing BTS with the Metro in D.C., the Miami Dade Transit, and San Francisco BART. The project concludes with several recommendations including the formation of a public/private partnership for BTS, special fare subsidies to increase ridership, taxes on automobiles, and tolls in the downtown area within Sky Train routes, to force more use of the Sky Train.
