This study investigates the reasons behind ski resorts' refusal to provide skier/snowboarder accident and death information. Working from literature and interviews, we established ski area operators' attitude toward ski trail characteristic studies to further skier/snowboarder safety. We assess if ski area operators place a greater concern on decreasing their liability towards lawsuits or increasing skier/snowboarder safety.
