Abstract

Walden Pond State Reservation is a famous historical and recreational area that is in the process of improving and preserving it's natural setting. The large number of people that visit the park during the summer months result in many problems that affect the environment of the pond and its surroundings. Solutions to the numerous problems resulting from overcrowding were developed through interviews, of persons with recognized expertise. Also, research of solutions that other state parks have used in response to overcrowding and related issues were incorporated.
