WPI distributes course evaluation forms at the end of each seven-week course to collect data used as a factor in determining tenure, salary, raises and promotions, and teaching awards. Our project objective was to evaluate how informed WPI undergraduates are with respect to how WPI uses the course evaluation data. We concluded from our results that WPI students generally do not know what WPI uses its course evaluation data for. We also concluded that WPI needs to take action to better educate its students about the purpose of course evaluations.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
