Growing Pathways
Abstract
In Copenhagen, the threat of climate change and development creates a growing need for multipurpose greenspaces. Our goal was to promote collaboration between planners and developers, environmental scientists, and community outreach organizations through a social mapping platform. We conducted interviews with stakeholders, created workflow diagrams, and built case studies to analyze problems with collaboration. We found multiple expert and resident perspectives must be included to produce spaces that benefit both residents and ecosystems. We observed a lack of collaboration between stakeholders, resulting in limited benefit greenspaces. We adapted a social mapping tool to facilitate collaboration and recommend the formation of project teams at the inception of greenspace projects.
