Information sharing is prevalent in business operations. Information is shared both internally and externally on a day-to-day basis. This project focuses on the sharing of financial information internally, more specifically the budget. Sharing the budget is a necessary tool to facilitate intercommunication regarding managing expenses between different levels of a firm. There are a variety of ways the budget can be shared. Traditionally, copies of the budget were printed out and hand delivered to departments within the company. With the advancement of technology, the budget can now be sent to hundreds of personnel with the click of a button. Management control systems allow firms to share information between accounting, the firm as a whole, individual departments, and employees.
