Learning to play an instrument requires great amounts of time, effort, and money. This project investigates the fusion of technology with traditional music education. It intends to create a hardware/software suite which will facilitate learning of the guitar. The suite is composed of a physical controller designed like a real guitar and a software game in which the user learns in an engaging and reinforcing setting. It provides a more conducive environment for learning the guitar by using a physical interface similar to a real guitar, strong visual aids, and positive reinforcement through game mechanics. The suite was evaluated using surveys and testing in order to draw a conclusion on the utility of an electronic interface and the success of this implementation.
