Process Improvement at St. Vincent Hospital
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerIn this project, lean methods were applied to reduce delays and wastes in several processes at St. Vincent Hospital, including the Same-Day Surgery patient chart preparation and the Emergency Department urine test improvement. Our methods included process mapping, interviews, data collection and analysis, Undesirable Effects identification, root cause analysis and Kaizen. The project generated recommendations to improve communication, coordination and information management in the target processes. Implementation is expected to result in significant savings in labor resources and reduction of delays.
