Abstract

Millennial employees have proven to be unafraid to leave a job and companies are faced with the challenge of retention. Using academic articles, interviews, and surveys we found that millennial employees in clan and adhocracy organizational cultures had higher likelihoods of retention. Additionally, there were five specific factors that influenced the motivation of millennials. Our research also identified opportunities for further study and concluded that companies need to adapt their retention strategies and organizational structure to better retain millennials.
