Phytoestrogen Effects on Breast Epithelium

Phytoestrogens, rather than estrogen, are gaining attention as an alternative for menopause therapy. It has been shown that Promensil, an over the counter phytoestrogen menopause treatment, causes a decrease in the proliferation of MCF7 cancer cells. This experiment investigates the estrogen dependent nature of the cells, and the effect of passage number and the addition of Insulin-like Growth Factor on their estrogen dependence.
