Resedential copper pipes can errode and develop leaks. Leaks can lead to water damage, which is a major problem in the United States of America. In coordination with Ayotte Heating, Plumbing, and Air Conditioning, the project team researched the feasability of a non-invasive service that could detect the amount of corrosion within a pipe. A device using ultrasonic technology could be used for this application. Ayotte Plumbing decided not to pursue the implementation of this service due to a lack of customer interest.
