The Role of BIM in a Collaborative Approach for Design and Construction at the Foisie Innovation Studio

open in viewerThe owner, designer and construction manager involved in the development of the Foisie Innovation Studio being built on the WPI campus are conducting a well-coordinated collaborative process during the design and early parts of construction to incorporate the views and needs of different individuals and groups who are related to the many aspects of this facility. The authors attended design and construction meetings, reviewed project documentation and conducted interviews to document and analyze this collaborative approach and proposed an approach to integrate design lifecycle information using Building Information Modeling (BIM).
