D3 Nozzle Characterization

The project is an empirical study to characterize sprinkler sprays under various operating pressures using a high end state of the art LaVision modular laser imaging system. Skills obtained include test plan preparation, team interaction, data acquisition setup, instrument calibration, fire test safety, data analysis, report writing for empirical studies and presentation skills. The project team consisted of 2 WPI students and 2 Shanghai Jiao Tong University students who worked together to obtain experience in global engineering while being exposed to a multinational, diversified company.
