The study of the proteinaceous cuticle of the free living nematode, C. elegans, has proved useful in the study of developmental genetics. Polyclonal antiserum was generated here from rabbits immunized with the SDS soluble fraction of adult C. elegans cuticle. This antiserum was shown to bind to the surface of live wild/type adult nematodes as well as the SDS soluble fraction of adult cuticle separated on SDS-PAGE.
