This project aimed to define what a sustainable family audience looks like for WAM and to make recommendations on how the Museum can actively engage with them. The three objectives were to describe the current interactions of visitors, develop an understanding of the demographic profile of current visitors, and explore what prompts patrons to either visit or not to visit WAM. The methods used to collect data were observations, surveys, interviews and secondary data. Recommendations based on the findings highlighted the ideal family audience for WAM and also ideas for dedicated family spaces, new community outreach programs, different membership pricing models, and new ways to receive feedback directly from the target family audience.
