RNA-binding and Metabolite-mediated Inhibition of Musashi1 Homologs
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerCell fate determination relies on precise regulation of gene expression. Musashi RNA-binding proteins regulate mRNA targets of neural and epithelial stem and progenitor cells, and Musashi1 expression is correlated with malignancy and proliferation in neural and epithelial tumors. Musashi1 RNA-binding activity is inhibited by a small molecule metabolite through an unknown mechanism. The current study investigates differences in RNA binding and inhibition of four Musashi1 homologs from diverse species.
