Lean Manufacturing Implementation at Central Industrial Supply
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerCentral Industrial Supply (CIS) is a company that specializes in contract manufacturing of electromechanical components and assemblies for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for many companies such as Dell, IBM and HP. Our project focuses on a Dell product called the "9G" which is used for many rack-like products that slide in and out from a position. For this product to be completely created and assembled, it takes on average 7 days. Our goal for this project is to understand different lean manufacturing methods and apply them to reduce lead time by 20% as well as improve overall process efficiency.
