Abstract
Building design can take many forms and ultimately results in the choice of the most appropriate design for the function of the project. This project investigated a variety of structural design systems in structural steel, reinforced concrete and wood. Six design alternatives were compared for cost and constructability. In addition, building code requirements for fire conditions were identified and a program for code comparison was developed.
