Abstract
General Electric Aircraft Engines used an old ASCII based system to track x-ray quality in internal engine parts. The system was neither user friendly nor scalable. A new system was developed using Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft Access 2000 in order to address the underlying problems of the legacy system. The new system encompasses all previous functionality, but also has an improved graphical user interface, employs a contemporary relational database management system, and minimizes human error.
