MEX-3 is an RNA-binding protein (RBP) about which very little is known. This study aims to uncover more information about the function of MEX-3, as well as its interactions with other RBPs. The study used RNAi to knock down certain RBPs in C. elegans and examine the effect on the expression pattern of MEX-3. Results indicated that GLD-3, PUF-3, LARP-5, and MEX-5 play a role in MEX-3 repression, and that LARP-1 plays a role in promoting MEX-3 expression.
