Bagshaw, Joseph C.
Molecular genetics and its associated processes have recently become important to the areas of biology and biotechnology. In this study, one of these processes, polymerase chain reaction, was optimized over the ITS regions and 5.8S sequence of the gene encoding ribosomal RNA for genomic DNA from Penaeus vannamei and Artemia salina. This process was then used to amplify the IGS region of the same gene, a fragment between 5 and 6 kb in length, for the pBSr11 plasmid.
