Abstract
Molecular genetics is currently one of the most important aspects of the biology and biotechnology fields. In this study, random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) was optimized and then used to compare genomic DNA samples from Penaeus vannamei, Penaeus setiferus, Procambarus acutus, Procambarus clarkii, and Homarus americanus. The result of this study reveal genetic markers for each of these organisms. These genetic markers can be used worldwide to determine the species of an individual organism.
