Abstract

Over the past twenty years, the visual communication of the youth subculture best known as punk has become co-opted into professional fashion and design techniques. This project analyzes the evolution of the subculture into a marketing and design scheme and how it has changed the face of this youth movement from one of nihilism and angst to one of artistic style and marketing techniques.
