Abstract

The Gillette Sensor assembly line uses two equal-sized chassis (called the PAM and CAM) to assemble one razor cartridge. The project goal was to reduce required floor space by integrating the PAM operations onto the CAM while minimizing modifications to existing tooling. The final design retrofits the CAM to include the PAM operation, reducing the current required assembly floor space by 50%. Additionally, a new unique component was designed to stabilize the production "nest" at the new work station.
