The goal of this project was to design a mechanical device, which could be used to manipulate individual rodent whiskers, or groups of whiskers, in a defined and reproducible manner. The project included a number of ideas and design iterations from both partners that lead to a final design. The final design meets all of the performance specifications and is easily operable by a single individual. The project was completed by machining and assembling a 2:1 scale prototype.
