Abstract

The NASA Genesis Mission will launch in 2001 with the goal of collecting solar wind ions for return to earth. The most important isotope, O?, will be collected in ultrapure CVD C?? diamond film. The goal of this project was to develop a technique for producing suitable material. This required control of purity and resistivity. The objective, a pure diamond film with a resistivity less than 10 ohms, was achieved by varying growth conditions. Further, it was found that resistivity can be correlated with twin concentration in the films.
