Abstract
The project considered the design and construction of an insert cooler using thermoacoustic techniques. A resonator refrigerator based on the Hofler model was built and tested. Though initial tests show thermoacoustic effects at resonance, the stack has too much thermal contact along the established thermal gradient, resulting in a heating process which prevents refrigeration. The design needs revision before use as an insert cooler.
