Abstract
The purpose of this project was to explore the possible ways of improving the interfaces associated with the construction and manipulation of text-based environments. Though text environments allow for much greater freedom of expression than their graphical counterparts, they have traditionally been limited to the command-line interface, a style which is well known to lower the user's attitude and motivation over time. Employing modern Java components, this project combines the limitless flexibility of the text-based world with the point-and-click simplicity of the graphical world to create an engine for spawning a vast variety of simulated environments and games.
