Abstract

This experiment studied the effects of heat treatment temperatures from 15?F below to 30?F above the gamma prime solvus on the grain size, and gamma prime volume fraction and gamma prime size of In-100. It was found that the samples subjected to temperature above the gamma prime solvus exhibited irregular grain growth resulting from the reduction in gamma prime volume fraction. A decrease of [gamma prime] volume fraction was also observed with increase in soak time.
