Abstract

This Major Qualifying Project's objective was to simulate the Network Assisted Reservation Protocol (NARP) as a new Internet bandwidth reservation protocol. The project concentrated on the design and implementation of the proposed protocol into the network simulator ns-2. The NARP protocol is an enhanced version of the Resource ReSerVation Protocol (RSVP) that gives the user a better ability to reserve Internet bandwidth. The comparison between the protocols was used to ensure the functionality was correct and illustrate the improvements.
