Abstract

This project baselined and evaluated the effectiveness of an aqueous printed circuit board cleaner in the soldering department of Teradyne Connection Systems. Circuit boards were cleaned under various conditions and an outside testing laboratory quantified the residual ionic contaminants on the boards by ion chromatography. The results were analyzed to provide Teradyne with data to determine the effectiveness of the cleaner. The data indicated that the cleaner is adequately cleaning the tested boards under the current operating conditions.
