Abstract
This project focuses on the design and manufacture of a competitive Formula SAE racecar. Major subsystems include: chassis, engine, drivetrain, suspension, and controls. Each component is designed for performance, manufacturability, cost, and ease of maintenance. This project embraces concurrent engineering to effectively integrate each subsystem within the car. Project details include individual part designs as well as in-house manufacture and assembly. Competition requirements include submission of detailed reports on design and cost, which emphasize manufacturing and global sourcing for production.
