Albano, Leonard D.
This project is a study to determine the cost and constructability impacts of different structural steel framing system for the design of a multi-story, multi-occupancy hotel. A combination of structural steel beams, steel open web joists, and a composite steel and concrete slab was the recommended option. Additionally, hotel fire safety concerns were investigated. Utilizing the 2000 International Building Code, a code-based assessment of the fire safety requirements for this structure was performed.
