Abstract
This project studies two very crucial secondary metabolites of Artemisia Annua, salicylic acid and artemisinin, and their many intracellular reactions. The experiments within this project relate specific reactions, including those involving peroxidase and catalase, to varying artemisinin concentrations and salicylic acid exposure times. Using these relations, it attempts to come up with a way to optimize artemisinin production in transformed root cultures.
