Abstract
This report, prepared for Worcester Polytechnic Institute, describes the process of designing a bridge in Washington and Massachusetts. Working with references such as the Washington and Massachusetts bridge manuals as well as the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) specifications the project team redesigned an existing Worcester bridge. The final deliverable of the project is a comparison between the bridge manuals of both states, cost variations, and disparities between concrete and steel designs.
