The objective of this project was to create the company a defect reporting and reconciliation system. The rationale for this project was to reduce the number of defects produced by providing closed-loop communication between employees reporting defects and the manufacturing plant’s Quality Enabling team. The methods used were research, interviews, statistical analysis, quality calculations, and cost analysis. The results showed I developed a system that utilizes Outlook 365. I created instruction manuals for whether system users are reporting or resolving defect-related problems. The conclusion indicates my recommendations for system implementation and system improvements along with my understanding of life long learning.
