Abstract

This MQP involves the design and implementation of a versatile charging system that integrates solar charging and wireless power transfer via inductive coupling. During this project the team designed and developed a fully-functioning product through a three-stage design plan. First, a proof of concept test bench was developed to validate our technology approach so that it functions correctly for our specific application. Second, a prototype device utilizing these concepts was developed for testing and exploration of possible improvements. Our team designed and developed this prototype based on product and performance criteria. Third, we finalized a version of our design with changes and upgrades from a suite of testing performed on our prototype.
