Message in the Bottle is a short-animated film that highlights hidden moments of an average family that occur behind closed doors. This story follows Maria, a young Mexican American high school girl, as she continues to struggle with the physical and mental consequences of her alcoholic father’s relapse. The purpose of this video is not only to reflect the common obstacles of modern-day children but to also emphasize to the public the adverse effects of parental alcoholic drinking. An animation was developed through developing script, storyboards, and different environmental layouts to closely mimic a standard family as much as possible.
