Design of a Pool Access Device
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerA pool chair was designed using the 2010 ADA standards for accessible design. The design uses a parallel four-bar linkage mechanism and is able to lift the chair with an average weight person in and out of the pool. The motion of the design has been analyzed. The motion is achieved by an electronic linear actuator. The analysis of the motion of this design yields reasonable transmission angles of 73° to 110°.
